Meet Your Therapist
Hey there, I’m Grace!
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in Charlotte, NC. I established Black Magnolia Counseling Services to create a space for individuals struggling with feeling lost amidst the pressures from daily life, responsibilities, relationships and social expectations.
I am passionate about working with college students, emerging young adults and adults struggling with anxiety and low-self esteem, especially when it impacts confidence in themselves, in their bodies and in their relationships. My clients often experience struggles including perfectionism, people-pleasing, low self-esteem and poor boundaries which can lead feelings of burnout and unhappiness.
As someone who was diagnosed with ADHD as an adult, I also love working with neurodiverse clients, clients who may be undiagnosed but recognize some neurospicy traits in themselves, ones who are recently diagnosed or are looking for support within the experience of their diagnosis. I love helping clients understand more about themselves, normalizing their life experience as well as helping them develop practical strategies for managing executive dysfunction, overwhelm, and other challenges life brings.
In session, I bring my authentic self, incorporating humor to balance the heavier topics we may explore. My goal is to create a safe and nurturing space where you feel heard and feel supported in your decision to embark on the journey toward finding your true self.
More About Me
I was born and raised in the Tampa, FL area but this Florida girl can’t take the heat. I moved to Charlotte, NC in 2024 with my husband and two dogs, Harbor and Luna, and we have grown to love being part of the Queen City.
In 2022, I opened Black Magnolia Counseling with the goal of creating a therapy space that feels accessible, comfortable, and affirming.
I thrive on connecting with others, learning their stories and empowering them to recognize their strengths. Getting to witness those “ah-ha” moments where a client recognizes their worth, expresses needs or tell me about a moment they “felt like a baddie, not a saddie” brings me so much joy. I am so grateful to walk alongside so many people as they reconnect with themselves and build lives that feel more like their own.
A few things I love:
- Talking about things like the newest BookTok obsession or binge-worthy show (yes, we loved Heated Rivalry)
- Listening to good audiobook while making sourdough or trying a new creative project that will be added to the ADHD hobby closet.
- Going on hot girl walks with my girl, Harbor, the spiciest but sweetest rescue dog.
